The NWS is beginning to schedule spotter classes for Winter and Spring 2009.
MoKan EP member Joey Ketchum has set us up with a chat room for the site. To register simply follow this link and follow the instructions.
Login here once you have registered.
This can be used for fun or as a form of backup communication in the rare event that a repeater is down but power and internet are not. We also think this can be used to give non severe weather information to net control during weather events. In that case we will post information to the site that the chat room is being used for this purpose.
A list of all people who have donated funds for the purchase of the MoKan EP repeater has been added to the Repeater page. If you have pledged funds but not yet made payment, please consider sending your money as the repeater is not fully paid for. Thanks to all of those that have donated.
There is now a discussion list you may subscribe to. This list is open to the public, just use the link under Subscribe on the right. The list is intended for discussion of weather, amateur radio, and the mokanep.com website.
For those that aren’t aware of how a discussion list works, you can think of it like a repeater. When you send a message to the list, everyone who has subscribed receives the message and can respond. It’s another great communication tool.
If you’ve got an idea for the mokanep.com website, this is a great place to make it known!
You can now listen to a live feed of the MoKan EP, KB0OU repeater in Joplin, MO. Use the player in the sidebar or go to the repeater page to find out more.
